Story:
A retired mandal revenue officer (Chandramohan) has three sons and a daughter. His elder son (Sameer) works as a manager in a construction company, while another is a software engineer. Ramakrishna (Kalyanram) is the younger son, has dream to become a good football player. Harita (Saranya Mohan) is the youngest child in the family. Once, Harita disappears and the entire family searches for her but they fail to trace her. The family ignores her and insists Ramakrishna to make use of the opportunity to play football at national-level and feels that it is a waste of time to search her. While Ramakrishna is on his way to Delhi, he comes across Harita in a railway station.
From her, he comes to know that she was cheated by her lover, Chinababu (Shyam), son of Muthyam (Kota Srinivasa Rao), a notorious factionist. She tells her story that she is being treated like a servant in her in-laws house. When Harita pleads with him to take her to his father, he takes her to her in-laws house. What happens next should be seen on-screen.

Performance:
Kalyanram has tried to do justice to his role but has failed to impress the audience. His performance in action scenes sans any ease and the action scenes are moronic. His dialogue modulation lacked to deliver the adequate punch while delivering the dialogues. Sana Khan, who has played the female lead had no role to play at all, except to shaking legs for a couple of songs. Saranya Mohan is okay in the sister’s role, while Shyam has maintained a good expression all through the film. As usual Kota Srinivasa Rao has done justice to his role. Ajay’s character was also not etched properly and the way the director ended is character is unimpressive. Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Venumadhav have tried their best to tickle the funny bones of audiences. However, Brahmanandam was wasted and his character was not properly established. Others like Chandramohan, Sameer, Surekhavani, Telangana Sakuntala are just okay.

Technical:
Story by Vakkantam Vamsi is pretty predictable and lacked any kind of novelty. Dialogues by M Ratnam lacked adequate power for a film with faction backdrop. But for a couple of scenes, none of the dialogues sounded impressive. Moreover, the idiotic dialogue modulation spoiled the punch that was injected by the writer. Manisharma’s music was below average and it is not known how a seasoned music director has given a such atrocious tunes. But for ‘Rama Rama’ song no other song sounded melodious. Action scenes too were not properly choreographed. Once again Mallikarjun’s director proved to be atrocious. He miserably failed to narrate the story which has a mix of sentiment and faction. The director has failed to do justice to any of the scenes all through the film. The screenplay is so worse that many scenes appeared disjointed.

Remarks:
Why the hero and the director insisted on the title Kathi and why the Kalyanram was kept as a prefix, as none of the characters in the film carry the name. It is absurd to give the title ‘Kathi’ just because Kalyanram carried the sword in a few scenes. While everyone believed that the year is fruitful to Nandamuri heroes, Kalyanram failed to cash in on the sentiment, as he ended the year with a big flop.
